Jobs for America’s Graduates
JAG is a state-based national nonprofit dedicated to helping at-risk students graduate from high school and move on to meaningful work and postsecondary success. Youth unemployment has reached crisis levels, both in Connecticut and nationally- even while employers struggle to find the trained and skilled workers they need.
JAG has evolved over 35 years of services into a comprehensive program with consistent and compelling outcomes. JAG CT launched in 2014 as a program of the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education with support from the CT Department of Labor and numerous state agencies. The program is carefully designed to teach needed skills, offer project-based learning and provide needed mentoring and support. Dedicated JAG CT Specialists work with 35 to 45 students in each school. The specialists are equal parts instructor, counselor and mentor.
